Inside the Mini Putt Cabinet
TL;DR: Sink all nine holes in as few strokes as possible on a bouncy minigolf course. Expect geometry with consequences at a pace that's your pace - par is the enemy.
Mini Putt is the boardwalk classic where geometry beats muscle: nine handcrafted holes, one ball, and walls that punish sloppy angles. Drag back from the ball to set your line and power, release, and let physics do the rest - Off the rails, around the dogleg, past the windmill blade that is always exactly where your ball wants to go.
Sand kills your roll, banks reward brave angles, and every hole carries a par that quietly judges you. Our version keeps the strokes honest with crisp drag-and-release putting that works the same with a mouse or a fingertip, and it totals your score against par across all nine greens.
Once you have a favorite line for every hole, take on the daily seeded course, where every player faces the same nine layouts in the same order - Then check the leaderboard to see whose putter told the truth.

Learn Mini Putt in Five Moves
Drag back to aim
Click or touch near the ball and pull away from your target. The guide line shows the direction the ball will travel, and the farther you drag, the harder the putt.
Release to strike
Let go to hit the ball. Power and aim lock in the moment you release, so settle the line first - There are no do-overs once the ball is rolling.
Use the walls
Every rail is live. A putt banked off a wall keeps most of its pace, and several holes are built so the bounce is the fastest route to the cup.
Time the windmill, skip the sand
The windmill blades sweep past the gap on a fixed rhythm, so release just as a blade clears. Sand drags the ball to a crawl - Route around it whenever the hole allows.
Beat par across nine holes
Each hole has a par, and your total strokes over all nine holes is your score. Lower is better, so a bad hole early can still be rescued by a clean finish.
Score Higher at Mini Putt
Play your first round as a scouting trip. Every hole has one obvious line and one sneaky one, and knowing both before you chase a score is worth more than a perfect stroke.
- Pull back less than you think. Overhit putts ricochet off the back wall and wander into sand, while a ball that arrives at the cup nearly dead always drops.
- Aim at the wall, not the hole, on doglegs. A clean bank turns one impossible angle into two easy ones, and the rails are far more predictable than a thin, curling putt.
- Count the windmill before you commit. The blades run on a fixed cycle, so watch one full rotation, then release the instant a blade clears the tunnel.
- Power through sand you cannot avoid. Sand bleeds speed fast, so a firm stroke crawls out the far side while a gentle one dies in the middle.
- Lag putt the long holes. Rolling close and tapping in for two beats gambling on a screamer that can rebound halfway back to the tee.
- Protect the total, not the hole. Par scoring means one blowup costs more than five careful holes earn, so when a hole turns ugly, take the safe two-putt and move on.
House Rules & Spin-Offs
Putt-Putt rules
Don Clayton's 1954 chain stripped out the gimmicks entirely: flat, skill-only holes where every one can be aced. It grew into a televised professional sport with serious prize money.
Adventure golf
The theme-park cousin - Pirate ships, waterfalls, and jungle caves over longer, contoured holes that play closer to real greens than to carnival obstacles.
Crazy golf
The British seaside strain, obstacle-first and proud of it. Its spiritual home is Hastings, which hosts world championship crazy golf on the seafront.
Video minigolf
From Zany Golf's magic-realist holes to modern online party putters, digital courses ditch physics-safe design and let holes do things no real course could.
