Inside the Balloon Busters Cabinet
TL;DR: Build dart, bomb and frost towers to pop every balloon before it escapes the garden path. Expect placement beats spending at a pace that's waves with breathing room.
Balloon Busters is tower defense boiled down to its addictive core: a winding garden path, an endless parade of balloons marching along it, and your growing arsenal of towers determined to pop every last one before it floats off the far end. You start with pocket money and twenty lives.
Dart towers are your cheap, reliable workhorses; bomb towers trade fire rate for splash damage that shreds tight clusters; frost towers slow everything in reach so the others can feast. Every escaped balloon costs lives equal to its strength, and stronger colors take multiple hits, so wave by wave the arithmetic tightens.
Cash flows from every pop and every cleared wave, and where you spend it matters far more than how much you have: a corner tower that covers two path legs is worth three towers on a straightaway. The waves never stop coming and never stop growing, so a run ends only when the garden falls, and the leaderboard remembers how long you held it.

Learn Balloon Busters in Five Moves
Pick a tower, place it on grass
Tap a card in the bottom bar (or press 1-3), then tap any open grass to build. Towers cannot sit on the path itself.
Know your three towers
Dart towers fire fast single shots, bomb towers deal splash damage around their target, and frost towers slow every balloon in range without popping anything.
Read the balloon colors
Color equals toughness: red pops in one hit, blue in two, and so on up the rainbow. Tough balloons also drift faster, and each layer popped scores points.
Guard your lives
Every balloon that escapes costs lives equal to its remaining strength, and twenty is all the garden has. A single leaked five-layer balloon hurts.
Bank the wave bonus
Clearing a wave pays a cash bonus scaled to the wave number, plus score. The pause before the next wave is your building window.
Score Higher at Balloon Busters
Buy your first dart tower on a corner. Corners double the time a balloon spends in range, effectively doubling the tower's value.
- Frost before firepower is a trap early: one dart tower alone beats one frost tower alone. Frost pays off once you have two poppers to amplify.
- Save for a bomb tower before the mid-waves arrive; grouped blues and greens that shrug off darts evaporate under splash damage.
- Cover the path's final leg last. Defense there has no safety margin, so it should be your cleanup crew, not your front line.
- Do not carpet one segment. Popped coverage overlapping on the same tiles decays in value; spreading along the path multiplies total shots per balloon.
- The mini-boss at every fifth wave eats a full dart tower's attention: pre-position frost where it will crawl, and let the bombs meet it there.
- Past wave ten, spend every dollar the moment waves clear. Idle cash is wasted fire-rate, and the balloon curve does not wait for savers.
